Amberg
Amberg – A Bavarian gem. Or, how we like to call it: medieval charm meets air art city.
The secret capital of the Upper Palatinate is centrally located (and with perfect transport links) between Nuremberg, Regensburg and Weiden.
With about 42,000 citizens Amberg wouldn’t be considered as a metropolis, but also has plenty of things to offer: restaurants and taverns, beer gardens, breweries, cafés, churches, monasteries, museums, theaters, cinemas, swimming pools and many more. The historical city counts as one of the best-preserved medieval city complexes of Europe and is attractive with many cultural events. Also, nature lovers will get their fill: Along with the former state garden exhibition area and the Mariahilfberg, two high-quality local recreation areas lie in the middle of the city.
